How to Use Rose Water

With its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, rose water is a great addition to our skincare routine. Try using rose water in the morning after washing your face to wake up your skin, or spritz or dab it on during the day to moisturise your skin and calm irritation.
 
1 Add rose water to your morning routine
Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser. You don't want to strip your skin of its own natural oils, then use a moisturising cleanser that is forgiving to your skin. Wet your face with warm water, then apply the cleanser in gentle circular motions with clean fingertips. Rinse the cleanser thoroughly.
 
2. Use a rose water spray on your face
Spray your entire face with the spray. Close your eyes and press several times, moving around your face as you do so. Try to spray your entire face evenly until you feel slightly moistened by the rose water.
Allow the rose water to dry on your face and then get on with your day! 
 
3. Use rose water throughout the day
Refresh yourself later in the day by spraying your face with rose water. Any time you feel hot or tired, spritz your face again with rose water. It will awaken your skin, leave you feeling refreshed and add a light, fresh scent to your face.
Keep a small bottle on you for travel to use throughout the day.
Use rose water when your skin is red or inflamed. Rose water is helpful for irritation as it has anti-inflammatory properties. It is helpful for both acne and rosacea. If your skin looks irritated, try using the mist more often to help calm that irritation.
You don't have to use a spray if you prefer. Buy a bottle of rose water, dab a little on a cotton pad and pat it on your face.
 
4. Gently remove your make-up by patting the rose water on at the end of the day.
 Apply a mist to your face or pat the rose water on a cotton pad. Let it sit for a minute or two, then wipe off the make-up with a cotton pad soaked in rose water. This process will leave your skin feeling clean and retaining moisture at the same time.
You can also look for facial wipes containing rose water.
Even if you don't want to use rose water to remove your make-up, you can make it part of your routine at the end of the day. Wash your face with your normal cleanser, then wipe your face with rose water.
The rose water will help to remove the last of the oil and debris from your pores and calm your skin before bedtime.
 
5. Use rose water to make a calming and moisturising mask.
In a bowl mix equal parts chickpea flour, turmeric and sandalwood powder. Add a good amount of rose water to the mixture to make a thick paste and apply to your face. Leave on your face for 5-10 minutes and then rinse off.
You can mix turmeric, chickpea powder and sandalwood in a small bottle. Take out only 1 mask at a time that you need and mix it with the rose water to create your mask.
